DIY Deodorant

I found this recipe for deodorant. I thought I would give it a try.

I used .25 cup of Baking Sida and .25 cup of Cornstarch. I slightly melted 2.5 Tbsp of coconut oil. I don’t have essential oils. This is what I got!

I smell a bit like coconut! But not too much! Will see how it goes throughout the day!

Update, October 18, 2018.

This deodorant is awesome!! It goes on smoothly. Not noticeable. And just a hint of coconut. Not overpowering! I am in need of a shower, really, and there is no smell!

I am not sure how well this would work for activities causing more sweat, but I will make a post in the future when I find out.

Update October 22, 2018.

This deodorant was great for a couple of days. But, the night of the 20th, my arm pits started to itch. The 21st, I had a bumpy itchy rash. I immediately washed the area. Today I am fine.

I may have had to wash the area at the end of the day so I guess I will have to try! But in a couple days to make sure irritation is gone. I almost gave up on this recipe, but I will give it one more try.

Update Novemvber 26, 2018.

I never did go back. I did some reading and turns out the baking soda was the irritant. Currently browsing for a baking soda free alternative.

Update January 2019
